Storm, Day Three

Just a quick post to catch up. Today I wore my "stormboots", they were a bit more useful in the rainy stormy weather. Added black leggings and a long sweater-tunic and I was set.

I love the color of this sweater, it makes me look brighter somehow, my eyes become more blue than grey. Of course nobody can see my eyes in this dumbass photo. But you can see my kabbalah rings!

I've been at this office since 8 am and it's almost 7 pm. Exhausted is the word!

Here they are, my heavy duty boots. They make it so easy to run for the bus at the end of the day.

Seriously, people got knocked down by this wind yesterday! A woman was practically thrown onto the road and got hit by a car because of it. I'm glad it's over.

Hobo Boots

I went outside of my comfort zone and bought myself some new boots. I think this is what the internet calls "homeless chic". They look like I've had them for about 20 years, trudging through the mud and running after freight trains... You know.

The biggest plus was their price. They are not leather, so they were cheap as chips. I had my doubts, that is sweaty feet and stuff. But I've worn them 3 times already and they are perfect. Comfortable and not sweaty at all, I wore them for my 11-hour work day and was happy as a bug.

This week the weather finally turned wintery and we had our first rain. So what happened? I wasn't ready. I have nice jackets, a beautiful new Zara trench, some stylish pieces that I could wear. So what did I wear? This old thing purchased in Vancouver 15 years ago. It's light as a feather and wrinkly to begin with, so you can roll it up and stick it in the bag if you have to (I didn't have to, it was cold).

Here is one outfit with the aforementioned boots. With the cardigan.

And without the cardigan.

And now for a bit of humor. Went to a department store the other day and found these T-shirts. Looked closely and saw something interesting.

Had to look again. No mistake there.

And then found another one.

Nice, eh?
But here something really nice I saw in a magazine called Mama-Info. Sweet sweet babies.

Doesn't it make you feel all warm and squishy inside?

Blue Spots

I fixed the glitch in the comments (almost wrote "in the Matrix"). That was unfortunate.
Thanks to everyone for your good wishes. The virus is almost gone, I feel much better.

Yesterday was a day of blue and brown (sounds like a bruise). I wore my fave suede brown coat. Don't know if I can call it a trench, but I really want to. It's more of a show-off coat, it doesn't provide much warmth, but it has the most fab feel to it.

So here I am, all prim and proper...

And these are my craziest boots!

Who knows what posessed me to buy them. Probably everything. They are soooo long, with "golden" tips. I've had them for 3 years now and I don't wear them often. You really need to be in the mood.
So this is the overall look. Zara shot again. Weird face, I really don't want to get caught!

I'm now looking for a pair of jeans in lighter blue wash than these, and straight-leg. I think that'll go with the boots a bit better.
I decided not to write the labels of my stuff. It's mostly local, and nobody knows any of these companies. Unless it's Nine West or something, of course. Or Cavalli, in which case I'll just have to brag.

Nine West Boots Week - sort of

Nine West boots week is still here. These are the beauties I put on yesterday. Got them last year at the end of season sale. Leather with pony-hair-like and snake-like inserts.

I had to go half-size up just to zip them up. I would like to ask Nine West and lots of other boot manufacturers: What kind of a leg do you think women have? A leg is not a broom-stick, it has meat, muscle and fat attached to it! My calves are not even that "athletic" as some magazines call them. So why do I have a problem zipping up or pulling up all these beautiful boots? I am average in size (let's say 10-12 depending on a company).

At least Nine West puts an elastic insert on most of their boots. Other companies don't.

Anyway, we went to the mall with my Mom and the Kid who is on Hanukkah holiday.
This is what I wore:

Fuzzy photo again. I can't seem to master it at home. I need the boost of the retail energy to take a good picture.

Sweater argyle dress: Danza
Silver "plastic" coat: Dolce and Gabbana - ha-ha-ha! Why would they even bother putting that on the label? I bought it not for the label but for the color last year, when metallics came back into fashion. It matches my pewter booties from Monday post.

But in the end I changed into my flat boots. Didn't want to tower over my family.

Nine West boots week

Monday turned out to be gray and black. I was dying to finally wear my new dress, purchased at my friend's shop in the last days of hot autumn. It's a thin sweater dress in the shades of black and gray, so I paired it with my dark gray suede boots.

I'm wearing my "Eiffel tower" pendant as well.

Zara was so full of people that I couldn't really take pictures there. So I went to the Nine West store. I fugured that I was "entitled" because I was wearing Nine West boots. In fact, it's going to be a Nine West boots week, I'm already planning tomorrow's look.

Black coat, dark boots, dark dress, black bag. My favorite colors.

Another shot of the dress with the boots that I took at home.

Everything is so dark! The boots are mix of gray suede and patent. I had to take a separate photo just to show the details. Nine West had a matching purse last year, but I couldn't find it anywhere, the girls from the shop called all the branches - nothing. And nothing on ebay. Oh well, not like I need more purses. Mind you, I don't have any gray ones...

Boots

This post was an experiment. I posted this picture straight from the new cellphone. I didn't write anything because a) I didn't know if it'd work and b) it's a pain to type more than a word or two.

I got these boots on ebay couple of years ago after seeing them on The Fashionable Housewife blog. Long story, the seller didn't want to ship overseas and she refused to sell them to me, even if I gave her USA shipping address. I asked my friend to help me out, there was a bit of correspondence going back and forth, but I got them in the end. Opened the box and realised that I have a matching purse!

Now women in the street ask me where I got this stuff. They don't want to believe it was a total accident with the bag.

I took two more pictures but lost one of them in the process of transfering from phone to computer. Of course, it was the full lengh shot.

Boots: Aerosoles
Bag: ??? from my friend's shop
Aubergine jersey dress: Zara
Scarf: Lancetti

Finally raining

I didn't post for a couple of days. One reason is my back. On Friday morning I was helping Kid with his shoe-laces, bent down and when I tried to straighten up that was it. So I wore an elastic belt for 4 days, and though it helps me move around, it definitely doesn't give me an hourglass figure. So no pictures.

The last 2 days it was raining like crazy. A welcome change after the summer, as shortlived as it's going to be. The forecast for the weekend is "hotter than usual for this time of year". Translation - another khamsin. So I'm not putting away my summer clothing yet. But today I had to frantically dig in the closet to get at least one pair of boots out. These are my first boots to wear this season.

The company name is Sako-Or. The laces are purely decorative, there is a zipper on the inside. They are insanely comfortable. I took them to Paris with me 1.5 years ago and walked all around Monmartre, up and down the stairs, around the arrondisement for hours in them. Here, I'll show you.

That day it was raining too.

Today's outfit was black and gray. I bought 2 tunics this season (both of them gray but different shades) to wear with leggings and boots. This one is from Zara. Black and clear beads necklace, boots and an old trench to run through the rain.

You know, I like myself better on the Paris photo. I wonder why...

I'm a cowboy baby!

Well, my car is officially fixed. I went back to install the door handle that was missing before. It took approximately 15 minutes to walk in, say hello - and it was done! Ladies, all our visits to the car shops should be this short! I'll drink to that later tonight!

They called me from the garage just as I finished my shower, so I quickly dressed and went there with my hair absolutely wet. By the way, this is totally acceptable in Israel. You see women with wet hair in the morning, running to work all the time. So I didn't feel too bad.

I'm wearing brown leggings and a beige top with woven detailing on the bodice and pockets. On the label it says "Booba" which means "doll" in Hebrew. Added some gladiators and that was it. I'm very careful with leggings, wearing them with tunics down to my knees or almost there. Normally I'd put on some heels but didn't feel like it today.

Last night was my Kid's horseriding class. I had two very nice surprises waiting for me at the ranch. First - he did so well! Trot and canter, handling of the horse - pleasure to watch. The other children in his group had their spurs on but Kid didn't and the horse listened to him and did what he told it to do.

And here's the second surprise:

I've ordered them sometime ago and they are here! Durango RD 3122 in sage. With a spur ledge. By the way, for those who don't like spurs. I couldn't hurt a horse even if I tried to. I'm wearing the boots around the house today, trying to break them in. These are my "powerful boots". And the spurs finally started to make that clicking noise when I walk. I feel so cool that I forget about the silly helmet we're supposed to wear.

God, I'm so shallow!
