It's been a week since I lost my little furry boy Snooker. Life goes on, but I can't move on just yet. I've been looking for help online and found a great story about the Rainbow bridge. It calmed me down some. This site has great articles and stories, they have a message board and chat room, and they hold an online Candle Ceremony every Monday. Unfortunately I missed it last Monday because it is held at 10 pm eastern time which is 4 am here... I'll find a way next time. In the meantime, I've added Snooker to the Rainbow Bridge List and I'm sure his name was mentioned last Monday.
Here is a link to the website.
I also lit a virtual candle here:

My neighbor's cat stayed with us for the last four days. I think he knows what's going on. He's been such a great help. This is him. Looking so much like Snooker, but much older and wiser. And his eyes are blue. Thank you, Van!

Taking a Break
Oh yes, this is what I've been feeling like lately. Not overly energetic, not happy with my self-photos, the car had to be fixed (big bucks), the life is getting outrageously expensive, blah-blah-blah.
In the spirit of "If you don't have anything positive to say, say nothing at all" I decided to take another break from blogging. I'll still be here, reading all of my favorite blogs, copying outfits, hopefully shopping (saw a beautiful dress at Zara today... Didn't buy it...)
Until I feel more upbeat again,
see y'all later.

Summer Gold
The crazy heat wave seems to be almost over, but the summer is here to stay. Sleeveless, cropped and open-toed, these are the key-words for choosing what to wear. The other day I went with denim shorts, golden top and a surprise pair of sandals.
These shorts are a bit snug around the waist. It was an optimistic purchase, plus they didn't have a bigger size anyway. A loose top hides all the bumps while the shorts are stretching naturally (I already wore them twice and they got a bit looser).
And these wedge sandals? They are by FlyFoot which is famous here for it's orthopedic shoes. I've been looking for a comfortable "all-day" wedge like this.
The shop also had them in black but I didn't like the contrast between the body and the wedge. So I went with the "untanned skin color".
Unlike my silver Zara heels from the previous post, these puppies required some preventive Band-Aids on my heels. Well, better be safe than sorry. I think I'll wear them tomorrow as well.
