Still Here

I've had a nasty week at work. Middle management is getting up our behind (mine and my partner's). We've had "talks", we corresponded with the higher management, we were expecting (and at this stage really hoping for) our pink slips. But no such luck. Turned out that it was a storm in a teacup. Too bad, I was ready for a change.

Anyway, I kept taking pictures. This is something from last week, not sure when but then, it's not really that important. What's important is that the fuchsia color helped to get my spirits up.

No heels that day. I found these cute slippers in Zara, not that expensive (not leather) but so sweet. They also had them in black with silver studs, but I picked these and I've already worn them a couple of times.

This is my Lancel scarf that I don't wear often enough. It helped to conceal the sheerness of the top (Zara again, one of their basic cheese-cloth-like t-shirts).

In the meantime, we got new shirts for the job uniform. Nice color and the cut is not so bad. Too bad I get bored wearing the same thing over and over again. When I started this job, there was no uniform and it was a huge plus. Then it all changed...

The top wrinkles (of course) and it's half polyester. This fabric doesn't breathe easy.

Oh well, on a happier note, tomorrow the company is organizing a... Not sure. It's not exactly a symposium, not exactly "corporate retreat". Basically, all the company personnel gathers at a hotel where we sit through seminars and listen to a lot of talking till about 5 p.m. Then they give us hotel room keys, we go freshen up or whatever. Dinner and something in the evening (a walk, a disco etc). Then we get together in somebody's room, drink, chat and have real fun. Next day breakfast, couple of meetings (more talking) and go home. What do you call this thing?

Anyway, the most important part of the symposium (we'll call it that) is What Am I Going To Wear?
I have my outfits planned, just have to pack my overnight bag and finish up some translations (Up yours, Kenny Powers! Last episode of the show).

Nautical-ish

Summer is finally here, even though it's cool in the evenings. Summer was pretty hot and I really felt it while waiting for the bus. I hid in the shade of the bus-stop hut. Didn't help much.

But the clothes helped me to feel cool. I love this navy top even though I'm not that sure about the cap-sleeves hitting my shoulder at it's widest (read fattest) spot. Ah, who cares!

These shoes are from Nine West. They are comfortable like house-slippers. Spent all day in them, did some running around and still felt great.

It's the first time I was able to get some pictures in this mirror. Maybe because it was still light-ish when I got home (at 7:45 pm).

I bought this ring right after the Royal wedding last year. As if!

Wishing everyone a great week.

Fire Engine Red

I don't know where the time has gone! I haven't posted since Sunday even though I took my pictures. Oh well, I'll post them eventually.

But I just had to share this red skirt with the world out there.

I bought it at H&M mid-winter. But didn't wear it till now. Somehow it seemed too bright for winter (even though our winters are like summer in some northern countries - sorry guys!)

Wore it with simple white sleeveless top and pearls. Snake tote and shoes for the road.

And yellow heels for the office.

Cat tail not included, I had to leave it at home :)

Spent my day off translating an army soap! I'm sure you know which one I'm talking about. With Kim Delaney and Catherine Bell. I used to love them in "NYPD Blue" and "JAG". Can't say that this show captivates me though...

Blue Mint

The Summer is finally here. No, this is not a happy note for me, I much prefer anything other than israeli summer. But there is not much I can do but make the most of it. Meaning, wear nice summer clothers and pretend you're not sweating like a pig. What do they say? Ladies don't sweat, they glow. Aha.

Anyway, this is my pretty tiered top in a lovely blue-turquoise color and wooden beads.

I wore my white blazer when in airconditioning.

The top adds volume which is unfortunate, but I love the color and the style so much, I decided to ignore it. Wore the top with my H&M mint jeans and Christian Siriano for Payless patent navy and turquoise peeptoes.

Wanted to take a picture of the colors but the mint looks really washed out here.

Had a bad day at work. Which happens too often lately. Maybe I should take a hint and go hunting... We'll see.

Pink Week

For some reason I've been very tired this week. Probably still trying to shake off the bronchitis. So no heels again this week. And unusual color combinations, at least for me. This is my Wednesday outfit - green and pink. See, I'm on my break, in Zara, taking my picture. Jeans, top, jacket, bag.

And here I am going back upstairs. With a newly bought Zara metallic scarf. It jumped off a hook and wrapped itself around my neck, all on it's own.

By the time I came home from work, I was ready to fall on the couch and watch Prime Suspect or In Plain Sight or whatever else I had on my "playlist" that night.

But first I took a picture of the top. I really like the birds. This top is from Zara, I got it on sale for almost nothing. The fabric is really soft. The next round of Zara end of season sale will start at the end of June and will last for at least a month. I'll be looking for jewels like this one.

This week I had to go to Ashdod for my kid's school thing. And a trip to Ashdod means a visit to the MAC store. I needed mascara and top coat (MAC has this great topcoat, it's called Overlaquer, it dries really fast and stays shiny for days. Recommend!)

I also had six empty boxes and lipstick containers, so back to MAC they went. I picked up my free lipstick and added another one to the mix. Here they are - Pink Nouveau and Impassioned. I love them both. MAC lipsticks are great, much better than Chanel in my opinion (please don't kill me).

And the nail polish I was talking about - Lovie-Dovie by Essie. I'll wear it next week.

I took some pictures of myself yesterday but they turned out too fuzzy. Oh well, the outfit included H&M snake jeans and golden flats. Next time.

Bronchitis Sucks

I was MIA last week due to bronchitis. Third time this year! Nasty stuff, plus I had to go to work, fever cough and all. So dressing was comfortable - pajama-like dresses and flats. Like you're wearing your nightie to the office. Here is an example for you.

Felt better on Sunday and even put on heels and a pencil skirt.

I even tucked the ruffle top into the skirt, pretending I have a waist.

This is me at the end of the day, messy hair and crazy face.

The shoes rubbed my big toes a little so I found a solution to the problem. I don't know what the official name is, but these are my half-socklets??? They didn't budge all day and actually helped. I have the same ones in beige, for lighter shoes.

El cheapo earrings from Aldo. I love the color.

And this is my favorite ring. The dude on the coin is some Venezuelan chief.  I bought it from an artisan jeweler. Someone brought a coin for her from South America and she liked it so much that she made copies. This was one of those rings that you put on your finger and it just feels right, and you just leave it on your finger, pay and go home. I've had it for about 10 years and I'm never getting rid of it.

Oh, this is my Essie Lilacism nail polish. I love it. I like Essie polishes and the base coat. I have to stop myself from buying all the beautiful colors they have. I saw Lovie-Dovie on Faux Fuchsia blog and this might be the next color I'll buy.
